Privacy Policy

GCLab (“we”, “us”) is a golf-croquet game-logging and analytics service available on the web (gclab.app) and as an iOS/watchOS app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account details — your name and email address, used to create and secure your account.
• Games you log — scores, hoops, shots, dates, venues, and any notes you add. This is the core data the app turns into your analytics.
• Optional profile links — your WCF player code (if you link it) and your home club, so your games can be matched to your real rating and pre-fill the logger.
• Health metrics — when you log a game on Apple Watch, steps and heart-rate samples for that game. Capture is on by default once you grant HealthKit access, and you can turn it off any time with the Health toggles in Settings.
• Basic technical data — standard logs and device/connection information needed to run the service securely.

How we use it

• To provide the service — your dashboard, game history, and analytics.
• To match you to WCF data and compute ratings-related metrics, if you link your WCF profile.
• To keep the service secure and working (authentication, abuse prevention, diagnostics).
• For anonymized research into golf croquet — only if you opt in, and never in a way that identifies you.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your health data for advertising.

Apple Health data

Health data (steps, heart rate) is read from HealthKit only after you grant access on your Apple Watch. Capture is on by default once granted, is used solely to show you your own performance stats, is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing, and can be turned off at any time with the Health toggles in Settings or in the iOS Health app.

Who we share it with

We use trusted infrastructure providers to run GCLab — including Supabase (database and authentication) and Vercel (web hosting). Video Analysis embeds content from YouTube, which is subject to Google’s privacy policy. These providers process data on our behalf; we do not sell data to anyone.

Your choices & deleting your data

You can edit your profile and toggle Health/research settings at any time. You can permanently delete your account and the data you’ve logged from Settings → Delete Account in the app, or by emailing us. Games where you were only listed as another player’s opponent are de-linked from you but kept for that other player’s records.

Children

GCLab is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves; we’ll revise the date above when we do.
